A rare opportunity presents to stay in a home described by Grand Designs Australia TV host Peter Madison as a 'love letter to Tasmania.'
Just 35-minutes from Hobart's CBD, the pod feels a world away in seaside Lewisham. The architectural home is 40sq metres, snug by design for an intimate escape. Every touch is considered and local. Pop the local bubbles and sink deep into your Huon pine tub, made with timber sourced from the depths of Lake Pieman. Settle into the hand-crafted couch, made exclusively for the pod. Here, through floor to ceiling windows, nature is your entertainment. Views out to the dunes, Frederick Henry Bay and the Southern Ocean beyond are rivalled only by Mount Wellington / kunanyi out to the west. Surf beaches are just around the corner.
Come nightfall, set the suspended fireplace aglow. Its bold personality is the work of an artisan blacksmith. Your functional kitchen is appointed with the latest appliances and designer bench top while the bathroom boasts a basin crafted by an acclaimed Tasmanian ceramicist. Everything in the pod whispers of the island’s finest materials and craftspeople.
Turn the pages of a book or pop a Tasmanian record on the player. Fill your senses with local - from relaxed tunes to sea breeze room mist to the smooth timber couch curves. Oh and if you fall in love with anything in the pod, take it with you. There is no WiFi or TV in the pod ... that's by design also. This cocoon is about reconnection ... with another, with yourself, with nature.

POD LIFESimple, uncluttered, carefully curated living. That's what pod life is about. We've stripped away life's distractions. You won't find WiFi but you will find a fire pit for toasting marshmallows. You won't find any digital screens either. We prefer nature's performance, lingering bath time and long fireside chats.

'Relax and soak up all things Tasmanian at Tailored Pod. A surprise weekend getaway for my architect partner (who adores tiny home design) was such a treat for us both. We felt cocooned and sheltered as the windy weather outside whipped and whistled; the floor to ceiling glass windows allowing us to observe nature in all her glory. We picked our time between downpours to each enjoy a soak in the unique Huon pine bath tub ~ so luxurious! A special thank you to owner, Alice, for the surprise goodies on arrival. We feel totally pampered. The Tailored Pod is an ode to Tasmanian craftsmanship; the perfect hideaway.'

TAKE A PEEK INSIDE WITH NEVER TOO SMALL AND HUNTING FOR GEORGE
So cool to stay in a house from Grand designs, and it really feels like you walk into an architectural masterpiece. The outdoor bath is amazing for an evening soak, and the views over the water with the fireplace are better than any Netflix show. Comfortable bed, the heater is very warm and lots of added extras to find around the place. Definitely need a car, and a perfect place to stay to explore Port Arthur and the surrounding areas. Definitely recommend.

This house is every bit as good as it looks! Perfect for a quiet stay just outside Hobart, and watching the kookaburras from the outdoor bathtub was a sublime treat.
